Overall it was a good unit. We had some plumbing issues that forced a move to another unit but APVR was helpful in finding a comparable unit for one night. We moved back to this unit the next day and its close to the beach, good kitchen and amazing views. Be ready for a cockroach or 2... your on an island and bugs are a way of life. The unit was clean, well kept and perfect for our family. The internet was a little week beyond the bedrooms but we managed as we were working from the unit during the week. The beach is steps from the patio and surf, body surf waves are plentiful at low tide. Puamana was quiet.

Maui is always a dream and Puamana never disappoints. The house was clean and well stocked with all the utensils for cooking, supplies for laundry, and beach equipment. The AC worked great in the house and it’s only a short walk to the pool and beach access. Host was easy to communicate with and accommodating.

The condo was in great condition, well decorated, comfortable, and clean. Came here on a family vacation. This place was exactly what I expected and my family loved it here. We’re very tired of misleading looking rental homes, but we were not disappointed. We loved having the lanai with a direct view and easy access to the ocean. The ac worked great even though we also loved turning off the air and opening the wide sliding doors. Would be more than happy to stay here again.

This was a perfect location and rental for our family group with lots of amenities close by--lawn for kids to plan on, beach surfing, and swimming out front, pool only a short walk away, and a good jumping off point for exploring Lahaina, nearby beaches, the north end off the island, and other sights. APVR staff members were pleasant, communicative, and responded quickly to questions, which made the rental process go smoothly.

We loved the location and layout of this unit! Waking up to the view and sound of the surf is worth every penny we spent to have the ocean view! We all enjoyed sipping coffee and cocktails on the lanai and watching the ocean (and visiting chickens). An added bonus is being able to walk into Lahaina for shopping and shaved ice! The owner has provided everything you need for a stay, including beach towels, chairs and umbrellas which we used every day! One suggestion for improving the guest experience would be to boost the wifi signal on the lanai. If we had been working remotely, that is where we would want to work! We highly recommend this unit and would love to come back in the future!

Great place to stay with awesome Lanai. Beach was a bit rougher than I was hoping, since I was staying with my 6 year old and 2 year old. Great beach for stronger swimmers. Complex had other amenities for the kids like pools and playground. Kids enjoyed the chickens wandering around the property, however the chickens were a bit bold and wouldn't hesitate to jump on the outside furniture or your outside table while you were sitting at it.

My 88 year old mom, her 88 year old best friend/cousin and my sister and her husband along with me and my husband spent 13 delightful days in condo 150-3. Our favorite feature is that all three bedrooms were in back of unit, so whole front opened to the ocean view. There are two bathrooms in the unit and it probably could use one more. The youngest person in this group is 60. Fortunately, there is a pool house with restrooms a short distance away that was convenient when condo showers were full. The rambler style suited our group well.
We spent much of our time on the well appointed lanai. Six chairs fit comfortably around the lanai table and drew us to it for family meals, cribbage, reading and ocean watching. Whales spouted and breached one day - what a treat to witness!! The daily Lahaina marine traffic provided entertaining viewing. Sunsets were often jeweled wonders of the day; painting sky and surf in golds, pinks and reds.
The furnishings and supplies were very good quality and lacked nothing we needed. Another great feature is the three different refrigeration options; the main frig/freezer in kitchen; then along the dining room wall there are waist high cupboards - on the left is a two drawer refrigerator (looks like cupboard drawers from outside) and on the right a glass front wine frig. We used all three!!
The pools are excellent in Puamana and the lending library became a favorite place. We took several sight seeing drives and found we looked forward to returning "home." Our toaster broke one morning and the property manager delivered a new one before dinner same day! Highly recommend.

Amazing location and ambiance. Beautifully decorated and up to date unit. Our boys loved the surf break just outside their back door and they had the ocean to themselves (well-maybe there were a few others there occasionally). We had the best location for meals any time of day that no restaurant can compare to.
I did have a cleanliness issue the first night of our stay. I reported it right away and the staff was there in no time to make everything right. They were also extremely courteous & responsive.

We stayed in the Puamana condo the week of April 21-28, there were 6 adults in our group. The condo and location more than exceeded our expectations! Amazing location for surfing and SUP. Great size for 6 adults and a nice floor plan with lots of room. Beautiful patio and beautiful sunsets! Very convenient location to Lahaina yet overall very quiet! Upon arrival the condo was clean with nice linens and plenty of towels including large beach towels. The kitchen was well equipped with very nice cooking pots and pans and everything you need! Would definitely go back!

This is our fifth trip to Maui and our second stay at the Puamana Vacation Rentals. After staying in this unit, Puamana 150-3, there is absolutely no reason to stay anywhere else on Maui.

There are a number of reasons this is a spectacular place to stay.
1. Location, location, location. The covered lanai is the whole width of the single story unit and is less than 25 feet from the edge of the Pacific Ocean. The sunrise, sunrise, stargazing and all times in between views are totally unobstructed and stunning! The property location just at the very south end of Front Street in Lahaina is also super convenient. Its a short walk to all of the restaurants and shops on Front Street, and the harbor for whalewatching trips, Lanai Ferry, and Molokini Crater snorkeling. Great Shave Ice, Lapperts Ice Cream, Dole Whip, Honolulu Cookie Company, and hot fresh Malasadas are all less than a mile. Three nice grocery stores: Foodland, Foodland Farms, and Safeway and two drug stores: Walgreens and Longs Drugs (CVS) are less than two miles and a very short drive.
2. Value. Obviously staying on Maui is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. Unless, you have someone else footing the bill to stay at the Four Seasons Wailea, Ritz-Carleton Kapalua, or Oprahs house on the way to Haleakala, Puamana 150-3 is a really good option. The three bedrooms are quite comfortable. Additional kids or even adults would probably be okay having a slumber party in the living room which is wall to wall glass doors opening to the lanai and the awesome views. Listening to the sound of crashing waves all night would not be a problem. The kitchen is also nice and modern and you can save a lot of money preparing your own meals (especially dinner).
3. Friendly residents. The residents of the complex are a nice mix of owners and visitors (many of whom go there every year) and all wave and say hello on strolls on the grass next to the water.

Definitely will stay here again. Clean, well maintained. Close to Lahaina town and the most amazing part is that it is just a few feet from the waves. We really enjoyed watching sunset from the patio.

We stayed here with three senior couples and had an absolutely wonderful time. This place is beautiful - with what must be one of the most scenic locations on the entire island. The resort itself is beautiful with swimming, tennis, surfing and many other activities. The condo is well furnished with absolutely everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. And the single level floor plan made it ideal for one of our members who was in a wheel chair. All in all it is an ideal place to stay! We loved it and look forward to our next trip.

What can be better than arrive to a beautifully equipped and clean condo unit on the water - sun setting, surfer's out and whales putting on a show. This is Paradise and are family loves every single moment.

We have been vacationing at Puamana for 25 years and took the whole family over this September for a celebration. We loved our time in this wonderful ocean front home. It is comfortable and well located on the property. If there are any issues Rick is right there to problem solve.

Overall the unit was about perfect. It was very clean, location was good, was a 1-story unit that was nice. The only problem we ran into was there was a remodel being done in a unit two over from us in the same building and it was a bit noisy but acceptable.

I would like to put in a bottle all the wonderful memories me and my family have of spending 5 weeks in Puamana. It is the best family holiday in the best place to stay in Maui.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to hang out & relax with friends. The ocean was only about 50 feet away and the view was fantastic. The unit was very comfortable and inviting, the kitchen had everything we needed and was great to cook in. I would highly recommend this unit for whale watching, relaxing, and enjoying being with friends and family. Neighbors were great too! Dave and Cathy did a fantastic job letting us know about what to expect and what we might need for our trip. Rick, the onsite guy, was great too. I will definitely go back to them when we want to go to Hawaii again. I think the only thing that was missing was a sandy beach in front of the unit but the rocks did provide some really good snorkeling so that was nice. We had so much fun, we didn't want to leave.

This condo has a great oceanfront location, is very comfortable and is located within walking distance of Lahaina. We saw many whales while sitting on the lanai.

This tropical paradise condo was so well-appointed & located on a gorgeous location along grassy, palm- lined shore. We spent the majority of our time in Maui at the house, gazing at the ocean, sunsets, stars, dining on the lanai, entertained by daily surfers & suppers. We felt all our cares melt away here. Everthing we needed or wanted - this place provided. Would easily return!

We stayed for 10 days celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary in April. We loved the location, in a gated community and directly oceanfront. It was so relaxing to hear the waves. The unit was very clean and well-kept. Our only complaint was the central air conditioning had a pre-set lower limit of 76 degrees and the indoor thermometer was reading 81 when we arrived. We called the manager and he was very prompt in getting back to us about our concerns. He ended up bringing portable air conditioners for the 2 back bedrooms that we ended up only using the first night since they were so noisy. And after much discussion, the manager re-set the thermostat to 70 degrees so we could get the unit cool enough for our comfort. If there are restrictions on the air conditioning, owners should state those in their listing, or charge more to cover higher electric costs. Other than that, our stay was "a perfect vacation." In the future, I will always contact the owner/manager to inquire about air conditioner restrictions before booking.

Coming to Puamana is always the highlight in the year. Our unit is modern, well-equipped and any issue that might arise is always taken care of immediately.

We stayed at the beginning of February and my biggest disappointment was that there was no beach at that time of year for sitting on or easy access to water. Any problems we had were quickly handled by the caretaker. I would recommend a wifi booster be put into the unit, wifi signal was very weak or not available on the Lani unless the doors were wide open.

this is our third year and we booked a fourth. we love this location and the property. It is very friendly and usually great neighbors. The townhouse needs a bit of TLC - but overall such a great spot.

We really enjoyed this unit. The proximity to the ocean was essential for us, and it went beyond our expectations. We love the layout of the unit. It even had some essentials In the spice cabinet. Great kitchin for cooking with lots and lots of pans, dishes and silverware. There was a BBQ, lots of seating inside and out. I know we will stay here again.

Overall good vacation. Sadly we experienced cockroaches in the master bedroom. The unit had just been treated however, it impacted our stay. Sleeping with the light on helped. We have been to Maui several times, stay in condos as a general rule. This is the first time, regardless of the wet season, that we have experienced this problem. We did not keep any food out and everything was sealed in plastic containers with lids. Because of the pests we did not cook which added an unplanned expense to our trip. There were dirty towels in front of the washer when we arrived and some hair in the shower. The unit next to ours had mice and we did have two of them run across the lanai while we were out there. I would not mention this in a review but this unit was on the higher end of the price point for the season. We expected the decor and overall condo to be in excellent condition based on the cost, which it was. I thank the owner for allowing us to stay and the manager took care of what we needed. Just unfortunate that we had the pest issue. Had I been contacted by the manager with an apology for the issues, I might be softer on the feedback. What was excellent was the location to the ocean. That was superior. The pool was a nice amenity as well. The other guests were exceptionally friendly and we enjoyed their company.

We stayed 2 weeks in August: Relaxing, wonderful view, great to watch or go surfing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, body surfing, swimming (ocean or pool) or just hanging out reading a good book. Nice to walk around the beautifully landscaped Puamana grounds (even after a storm).
The beach is small but only 2 minutes walk away & great to go whenever we wanted & for as long as we wanted without having to cross hotel lobbies or other crowded areas. Yet it was very easy to drive to other beaches & activities around Maui and Lahaina is just down the street.
We have stayed in other units in Puamana in the past & this has been the best! This unit was more expensive than the others, but very clean & the central AC was nice, quiet & efficiently controlled by the thermostat. The furniture & kitchen facilities were in great condition & comfortable. The lanai's furniture was nice & comfortable but it would have been nice to have loungers as well & some hooks/racks to hang wet beach towels & swimwear. Altogether a great vacation for the whole family. I definitely recommend it ?

The weather was perfect, the location was great and the oceanfront view was beautiful! The unit we stayed in was very comfortable, clean, family friendly and wonderful for our patio dinners with friends! The property manager and staff were very nice and readily available to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone!

All was excellent but did not like all the emails and especially the rebooking procedures. It would be much easier just to phone in with a VISA number

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location was lovely, truly ocean front. There was a beach about a 2 minute stroll away, that was perfect for surfing and paddle-boarding. Beach was small, but convenience more than made up for it. The complex was in a good location, ~15min drive from Kaanapali beaches, ~5 min from central Lahaina. Cab fare from Lahaina only $6 as well. The condo was updated with a very well equipped kitchen complete with wine fridge, very comfy beds. Only (very minor) complaint would be that all the cooking knives in the kitchen are dull and we couldn't find a sharpener. Showers only, not good if you are a bath person.
Overall we were delighted with the experience, would highly recommend for families or groups!

The management company was great to work with as well. Very professional. We have already booked our trip for next year.
